About Me

Hello! I’m Abraham Cuenca, a Software Engineer with over five years of experience specializing in front-end development. I’m passionate about creating efficient, innovative, and user-friendly software solutions. I love writing code, learning new technologies, and sharing my knowledge.

My Journey

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. I discovered my love for computers and coding in middle school. I took a few HTML, CSS, and JavaScript classes at a community college and then read many books at my local library to teach myself web development.

I was a freelance web developer from 2004 until 2008 when I joined TeleServe, Inc. as an In-house web developer.

In 2017 I decided to attend Thinkful’s Engineering Immersion program to help supplement my self-taught education.

After graduating from Thinkful’s Engineering Immersion program, I joined Edmunds.com as a Software Engineer IV.

In 2022, I transitioned into a senior role where I not only contributed to software development but also mentored junior developers, conducted code reviews and coordinated with different teams to ensure project success.

Throughout my career, I’ve honed my skills in JavaScript, React, Node.js and other technologies, which you can read about in my blog and see in action in my portfolio.

Why I Started This Blog

I started this blog to share my knowledge, experiences, and insights about software engineering. Learning is a lifelong journey, and teaching is one of the best ways to learn. I aim to create content that is easy to understand, practical, and helpful for aspiring and experienced developers.

Outside of Coding

When I’m not in front of a computer, I enjoy creating music, reading and practicing photography. I’m a big fan of
